This Workshop is designed to provide participants with the understanding and skills required to master the techniques involved in genetic transformation biotechnology. Properties and design of vectors and gene cloning strategies, including problem diagnosis, are among the topics covered.

 

Topics will include:

  • Laboratory safety/Biosafety
  • The Gene and Gene Expression
  • Recombinant DNA Technology
  • Vectors and Promoters
  • Techniques in Molecular Biology
  • Plant and Bacterial Transformation Techniques

 

Funding
  • No fee is charged to attend this Course. However, participants are expected to cover their own travel and living costs.

  • A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the Course, are available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
    The available grants will be allocated in order of priority, according to the ranking achieved in the selection process.
