Three out of three ICGEB projects (and three of a total 40 in Italy) have received funding from Telethon

 

This year's winners of Telethon Funding for research into rare genetic disorders include four research groups in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region of Italy who, collectively, have been awarded over Euro 580,000 in funding. All three research projects submitted by the ICGEB in Trieste have received funding; three out of three and three out of a total forty research projects funded in Italy.

Emanuele Buratti (bottom - left), in collaboration with Andrea Elena Dardis of the University Hospital "Santa Maria della Misericordia" in Udine, has received funding in the context of his research into Pompe disease.

Federica Benvenuti (centre) studies the Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome and Franco Pagani (right), in collaboration with researchers of the Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara, is seeking a new therapeutic approach in the treatment of Haemophilia B.
