Italian leaders come together for the growth of the nation

Meeting at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs takes place in Rome on 17 April 2012

On 17 April 2012, the Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs and of Research, along with prominent Italian scientists worldwide met in Rome to promote networking opportunities for growth and research.

The notion to launch a joint "task force", involving both the Italian Government and world leaders in research to strengthen the international ties between Italian scientists, researchers and industrial leaders, has been championed by the Aspen Institute Italy.

Amongst the experts in attendance,  Mauro Giacca, Director, ICGEB Trieste, alongside Cesare Romiti, President, Italy-China Foundation, Mario Raviglione, WHO, Geneva, Fabiola Giannoti, CERN and numerous researchers from Preston University, LA, University of Houston, MIT Boston, Harvard University, the Swiss National Science Foundation, INFN and ASI.

Among the representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Melani, Director-General for the "Country System" and Min. Roberto Cantone, DGSP, and from the Italian Ministry for Instruction, University and Research, Ministers Profumo and Gianluigi Benedetti.
