Innovation Early Bird Prize awarded to ICGEB
Researchers at ICGEB Trieste - recipients of the 2012 AREA Innovation Prize. ICGEB receives a Special Mention Award for Innovation
The unprecedented research of Drs. Serena Zacchigna, Ana Eulalio and Miguel Mano, Molecular Medicine Lab, ICGEB Trieste, which has led to their recently deposited patent entitled "microRNAs for cardiac regeneration through induction of cardiac myocyte proliferation", has been awarded the 2012 Innovation Early Bird Prize.
Their work has been recognized, in particular, for the important medical contribution it could bring to the field of cardiovascular pathology, for its applicative and commercial potential and for its potential benefit to public health.
At the ceremony, held on 17 April 2012, ICGEB also received a Special Mention Award for its commitment and willingness to tackle new horizons, beyond the sphere of scientific research.
AREA has established the 3L3T Innovation Prize to reward the best products and technologies made in the AREA Science Park.
