ICGEB Theoretical Course "Molecular Medicine and Genomics in Africa"

Held in Mombasa, Kenya, from 20-24 February 2012.

The Theoretical Course on Molecular Medicine and Genomics in Africa was held at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort in Mombasa, Kenya last week.

The event has been jointly organised by Muntaser E. Ibrahim, Institute of Endemic Diseases, University of Khartoum, Sudan, and Christine Wasunna of the Centre for Clinical Research, Kenya Medical Research Institute, Nairobi, Kenya.

The course focuses on bioinformatics, ethical aspects of Molecular Medicine, molecular mechanisms of human disease, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases - biological aspects and clinical implications, molecular hematology and oncology, selection and evolution, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic applications.
