ICGEB New Delhi establishes a Joint Fellowship Programme with Cambridge University


A Framework Cooperation Agreement for a Joint Fellowship Programme, was signed on 12 September, 2017 between the University of Cambridge, ICGEB New Delhi and the Department of Biotechnology DBT, Government of India. 

Prof. Eilis Ferran, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Institutional and International Relations, on behalf of the University of Cambridge, UK, (pictured centre) Dr. Dinakar M. Salunke, Director, ICGEB New Delhi (far right) on behalf of ICGEB, and Dr. Mohd. Aslam, Advisor, DBT on behalf of the DBT, Government of India (second from left) signed the agreement. Prof. K. VijayRaghavan, Secretary, DBT, Government of India was also present (third from left).

The agreement will provide support for 5 year fixed term fellowships with established research areas and a schedule of allocation of time between Cambridge and India. The ICGEB, as an international organization promoting international cooperation and applying peaceful uses of genetic engineering and biotechnology, will provide support for the implementation of the programme.
