ICGEB Cape Town 2007-2013

The first six years of the ICGEB Cape Town Component, South Africa

Biotechnology for Africa

There is increasing international recognition that science- and technology-intensive solutions can significantly improve the quality of life of our citizens. This is particularly true where biotechnology is concerned, a field that is of paramount interest in health (including the development of new medicines, vaccines and diagnostic procedures), agriculture (through the genertion of biotic- and abiotic-stress resistant crops and plants with improved nutritional value), and the environment (by reducing wast and pollution).

On the occasion of the Council of Scientific Advisers' session held in Cape Town, 27-28 February 2014, the activity of the first six years of the ICGEB Cape Town Component has been presented in a new edition brochure - also available in pdf.
