CEI Ministerial Delegation visits ICGEB

Representatives from 14 countries of the Central European Initiative visit Trieste

In October 2011, representatives from 14 countries convened for the Central European Initiative's (CEI) first ministerial meeting on science and technology in Trieste, Italy.

Established in Budapest in 1989, the CEI continues to support scientific endeavours and offers opportunities for cultural exchange and economic and political cooperation between member states.

ICGEB counts 11 of the 18 CEI countries among its own Member States and was delighted to receive the delegation at its Trieste laboratories on 19 October 2011; an excellent opportunity to illustrate the active collaboration between the ICGEB and its Member States, and to promote the benefits of membership.

A letter of interest from the Republic of Montenegro to become a Member State of ICGEB has ensued, and has already been approved by the Board of Governors.
