The workshop will acquaint the participants about recent advances and techniques in the research on drug and vaccine development for malaria. The workshop will consist of sessions of scientific lectures by scientists/experts of international repute, and practical sessions to demonstrate new techniques in malaria parasite research. In addition, participants will be able to present their research work in the form of posters.

Topics

  • Host parasite interaction and vaccine development for malaria

  • Parasite biology and cell cycle regulation

  • Drug targets and drug development for malaria

  • Genomics and proteomics studies in malaria parasite

  • Generation of transgenic P. falciparum parasites: GFP targeting and gene knock-out

Participants

  • Admittance to the Workshop is subject to selection by organizing committee

  • Researchers from ICGEB member states working in the field of malaria will be selected from all the applications
  • Preference will be given to PhD students, young researchers and those who have published at least one research paper in a peer-reviewed international journal
